DOING THE RIGHT THING

Our responsibilities and the sustainability of our operations

Following the change of ownership, and the transition from SAB Miller Brands to Asahi Canada in October 2016, we are revising our sustainable development strategy to ensure that it is appropriate for the new organization.

While the details of the strategy are still in development, a number of elements will remain unchanged:

  • We believe that beer adds to the enjoyment of life for the overwhelming majority of consumers. But we also recognize that alcohol harm and abuse can have serious consequences for individuals, communities and society at large, and we are committed to playing our part to help tackle problems caused by the harmful use of alcohol. From our stringent internal marketing codes through to support for responsible retailing, we are committed to playing our part to help tackle problems caused by the harmful use of alcohol.
  • We believe that every business has a responsibility to understand and act upon its environmental impact. We will work towards sharing more information with our suppliers, customers and consumers about both the carbon footprint of our beers, and how we are working to reduce it.
  • We value highly our place in the local community and want to ensure that we make an effective contribution to our community. We are examining how we can most deploy resources such as employee volunteers, mentors and fundraising to most effectively support our local community.
  • We will be uncompromising in our integrity and the quality of our products. This philosophy extends to our policies and codes of practice, which will continue to be world class.
